About the Role

As part of reecetech, you’ll join a 250+ strong team that handles everything from Product Management and Engineering to Data and AI. You’ll be crafting next-generation digital tools that solve real customer problems and support our people to work more effectively.

Operating out of our new Head Office in Cremorne (Melbourne), reecetech offers outstanding career development opportunities as well as job flexibility (includes hybrid working) and stability. As a Senior Platform Engineer at reecetech, you’ll be striving to build out and continuously improve our platform infrastructure ensuring that it’s scalable, secure, and well architected.

The Platform Engineering team is designed to support and accelerate Reece’s ambitious journey to modernize our infrastructure from a predominantly on-premises fleet of containerized applications to a modern, cloud-first environment.

We’ve built out guardrails and a “landing zone” (using AWS Control Tower), cost reporting/charge-back reporting, and inherited some other services. All use a mixture of the AWS CDK and some raw CloudFormation, in TypeScript and Python, and built, tested, and deployed using Github Actions as our CI/CD.

About You

• You’ll have at least three years’ experience designing, building, and supporting AWS cloud solutions.
• Experience with automation tooling and frameworks - AWS CDK & CloudFormation.
• Experience working with high-level programming languages, e.g., TypeScript, Python, or similar.
• Working knowledge of git-based software development lifecycles and CI/CD pipelines (particularly Github with Github Actions).
• Strong technical skills with a platform engineering, DevOps, or software development background.
• A working knowledge of security best practices and when to apply them.
• Experience with building and deploying in Linux-based environments and containerized workloads.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.
