Nearly 200 ICT jobs have been generated in Victoria after a number of companies announced their intentions to open operations in the state.

 

Chinese ICT company VanceInfo Technologies Australia announced it will make Melbourne its Australian and New Zealand headquarters with a commitment to create 100 new local jobs by the end of 2012.

 

VanceInfo Technologies Inc is a US-listed Chinese ICT service and outsourcing company with operations in China, Japan, Australia, North America and Europe. The company's Australian branch was established recently and the Melbourne office currently employs 40 staff.

 

The announcement by Vanceinfo comes after global software company Attachmate Group Inc opened its Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne and committed to create 40 new highly skilled positions.

 

Canberra based professional services firm Cordelta has invested significant resources in Victoria and committed to creating 50 jobs by the end of 2013.
