Internode, the sixth largest Internet service provider (ISP), has become the country’s first national broadband network (NBN) provider to officially publish its pricings for consumers to connect to the network.

The Adelaide based ISP has announced that access to the NBN will come as a package, with prices starting at $59.95 per month for a phone and internet bundle on a 12/1 Mbps connection on a 30GB data allowance.

The announcement by Internode comes as Managing Director Simon Hackett expressed his concerns that the Federal Government will be unable to deliver on its prices to provide services at a uniform price.

Mr Hackett expressed his doubts in a blog post, saying that the NBN has not properly addressed the impacts of the costs of participation by retail service providers (RSPs).

“A number of pressure points in the wholesale pricing model exist which will make these promises from the government untenable in practice,” Mr Hackett wrote.
