The Korea-Australia-New Zealand Broadband Summit  is to be held in Hobart from 28 to 29 April this year. 

 

The summit has been held approximately every two years since 2003 on a rotational basis between the three countries, providing the three countries with the opportunity to share information about the development broadband-enabled digital economies and to explore potential joint ventures.

 

Topics to be discussed at the Summit include convergence, digital business, digital education, telehealth, broadband policy and digital heritages.

 

The Summit is being held as part of the Australian-Korean bilateral Year of Friendship. 2011 has been declared the Australia-Korea Year of Friendship to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the strength of Australia-ROK relations.

 

The 2011 KANZ Broadband Summit is also supported by the Tasmanian Government.
