New site to draw mining money
Australia has launched a digital prospectus to encourage critical minerals investment.
The government’s interactive Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus showcases over 55 projects designed to meet the increasing global demand for minerals essential to emerging green technologies, such as electric vehicles, solar panels, hydrogen technology, and batteries.
The online Prospectus includes an interactive map highlighting these projects, alongside information on government support programs, including potential funding avenues.
“Australia is ready and willing to meet the growing global demand for critical minerals, and we welcome international investment in key projects across the country,” says Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell.
He said Australia possesses the necessary mineral resources but just needs the investment to accelerate development in the sector.
Minister for Resources Madeleine King said critical minerals are key to reducing global emissions and supporting the defence industry.
The launch of the Prospectus comes alongside government initiatives to promote the sector, including a $4 billion Critical Minerals Facility and a $7 billion Critical Minerals Production Tax Incentive.
