The NSW Government has announced the rollout of over 4,300 digital whiteboards to 1,000 schools across the state.

The $23 million project is designed to deliver state-of-the-art multimedia technology to the state’s students.

NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell launched the initiative in Illawong Public School, describing the move as a ‘major investment’.

“We will prioritise this rollout to schools identified on the basis of student learning needs, where the use of Interactive Whiteboards has the capacity to significantly help education outcomes,” Mr O’Farrell said.

The rollout is expected to be completed by the start of term one in 2012.
