Online youngster teams up with old-school delivery
A deal has been signed which will enhance the logistics and reach of two companies, after they announced a three year partnership.
In a deal described as a “multi-million dollar logistics partnership”, Australia Post’s domestic and international network will be open for online store OzSale to access. The groups say it will slash the cost of last-mile delivery.
“It’s a step-change in the customer’s experience,” Richard Umbers, Executive General Manager of Australia Post’s Parcels and Express Services said.
“As well as receiving their purchases faster, Australians will be able to track their orders direct from the warehouse. With the option of having purchases delivered to one of our 24/7 Parcel Lockers and free returns for unwanted items, online is easier than ever.”
OzSale founder and chairperson, Jamie Jackson says linking with the postal service is one of the best possible partnerships for the young internet brand.
“This is an alliance between Australia’s leading parcels network and Australia’s leading online shopping club,” Jackson said.
“Every day we deliver tens of thousands of parcels across Australia and New Zealand. In Australia Post we have a partner who understands the needs of online buyers and is able to deliver in every sense of the word.”
Among the terms of the deal are facilities which will see better tracking of parcels, access to free parcel lockers in some locations, the option to collect purchases from Australia Post collection points, free returns and no change to existing delivery fees.
