Tech stocks hot as several hit the boards
Rumours are circulating that Australia could soon see a new tech stock hit the market.
Investors may even have a new stock to chew on by the end of the year, but the company in question has given up little yet.
Insiders claim software provider Aconex is lining up for an ASX debut.
While not well known to the home consumer, the Melbourne firm makes products used by thousands in the engineering and construction sectors.
Fund managers are rumoured to be meeting with the company’s board to begin public offering preparations.
Reports say investment banks Macquarie and UBS will arrange a road show for fund managers in Sydney, Melbourne and Asia.
The company is owned by its founders - BRW Rich Listers Leigh Jasper and Rob Phillpot – but there is believed to be some Silicon Valley venture capital from Francisco Partners holding a minority stake.
The rumours come at a pretty strong time for Australian tech stocks, with online currency exchange OzForex making its debut this year, Freelancer.com last year and education software firm 3P Learning hitting the ASX board just last week.
