Telstra has debuted its new 3G WiFi gateway that promises speeds of up to 42Mbps through the use of the new HSPA+ dual carrier technology in the company's Next G network.

 

The new Telstra Ultimate Gateway is anticipated to provide high speed access to up to 60 per cent of the population, specifically in metropolitan and major regional centres, with the company saying that remaining selected areas will enjoy speeds of between 550Kbps and 8Mbps.

 

"The Ultimate Gateway is the fastest mobile gateway device in Australia…We've worked to make the set up of this portable device as straightforward as possible and in minutes, customers can connect up to 16 wireless and four wired devices to the net," Anthea Roberts, Director, Telstra Mobile Broadband, said.

 

The device is available from Telstra Business Centres and selected Telstra stores.
