Telstra price cut to open access to rural areas
The Australian Competition and Consumer Council (ACCC) has ruled on the maximum Telstra will be permitted to charge its competitors to access its network.
The regulator revealed the final price decision on a variety of infrastructure access charges, including unconditioned local loop services.
Telstra previously had four access price brackets, charging separate amounts for metropolitan and rural and regional areas. The move will likely bring the price paid by rural and metropolitan end users closer in line with one another.
