The Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Manager Airport Solutions, the key function of this role is to represent technology by engaging with corporate areas of the business, assist in the forward planning and road mapping of technology solutions and support the broader Technology Delivery Program (TDP).

The role will work across business stakeholders, technology team members and technology providers, to understand the business, support the delivery of solutions and the associated agreements.

You'll ensure solutions are fit for purpose, delivering WSA's desired customer experience and operational outcomes are aligned to the broader Technology strategy. The role will also contribute to the forward planning of corporate technology solutions. Additionally, a key aspect is the research and exploration into solutions that not only deliver required business outcomes but drive thought leadership and innovation opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conducting workshops with project stakeholders to establish common-ground on requirements and operational outcomes.
  • Thought leadership in strategy and technology innovation, bringing the latest corporate technology solutions and operational thinking to WSA.
  • Clear understanding of technology solution dependencies and inter-dependencies across the main works contractors' technology packages.
  • Ensure ongoing support, operate and maintain requirements are identified and incorporated into WSA's technology platforms and solutions.
  • Ensure strong technology solution and stakeholder engagement leadership.
  • Ensure supplier engagement complies with relevant WSA procurement policy and procedures.
  • Optimised solution identification, implementation sequencing and project initiation.
  • Solutions are aligned to WSA's technology strategies.
  • Proactive engagement with stakeholders and technology providers to develop effective strategic relationships and partnerships.
  • Understanding business needs, working with Business Analysts, to turn business requirements into technology solutions.
  • Timely identification and escalation of risks and issues, identifying possible mitigations and communicating those with the Project Manager.
  • Working with Enterprise Architects in assessing supplier claimed design and integration capabilities of solution offerings to ensure they meet WSA's needs and support the integrity of WSA's architectures.
  • Handling escalation of requirements from the Business Analysts, for high priority projects across the program.
  • Liaising with partners and business stakeholders to analyse feasibility and recommend the most optimum approach to maximize value whilst staying in the project scope.

About You:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in definition, design, implementation and operations of corporate technology systems.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in a business engagement/partnering role as part of an IT team.
  • In-depth / broad experience in the design, integration, implementation and operation of Commercial technology systems.
  • Extensive experience working on large multi-discipline projects.
  • Full project life cycle experience, taking functional and technical specifications from initial capture through market engagement / contract i.e. market assessment and procurement, project build and deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive solution and commercial outcomes across a complex multi- supplier landscape.
  • Strategic planning experience, including demonstrated ability to develop project strategies and implementation plans, proposals, including writing well-reasoned and analysed papers.
  • Proven experience in business process capture and documentation, along with extensive skills in gathering high quality requirements and writing functional and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of presentation design, template usage and presentation delivery with the ability to facilitate workshops.
  • Effective communication skills and translation of technical to business speak is essential.
  • Customer service / client service experience with demonstrated ability to liaise on a professional level with a diverse client/stakeholder group.
