You will be part of the Chief Technology Officewhich ensures that CommBank has a world-class engineering capability and is at the forefront of technology, using innovative and emerging technology to help our customers and support our Group Strategy. We work hard to ensure that best practice, whether inside CommBank or outside in the broader technology ecosystem, is discovered, sheltered, nurtured, and spread to wherever else it can drive the most benefit for the Group and our customers. 

As a Senior Engineer Manager, you will be leading a squad of motivated engineers, instilling a growth mindset and innovative ways of working. You'll also play an important role in steering the organisation by contributing to the strategy and determining which problems to invest in solving. You will bring a perfect blend of people management and technical knowledge to this team and will be responsible for shaping its evolution. 

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

• Can lead and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence. If you have a solid understanding of DevSecOps tools and software delivery pipelines, along with a background in software development, we’d love to hear from you. 
• Will engage with senior management to ensure our engineering quality goals are met, encompassing security, reliability, and delivery. You'll mentor and coach engineers, contributing to CommBank’s Engineering Management Practice, and promoting open communication and strong relationships to achieve great outcomes for our organisation, customers, and community. 
•  Value effective communication of engineering standards and best practices across teams. Managing workforce planning and creating a safe, inclusive environment where all voices are heard is crucial. We encourage innovation and constructive challenges to the status quo, while building diverse teams. 

Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team: 

• Experience with one or more programming languages and taking software products from idea through to production in an enterprise setting. Including the use of tools such as, or similar to, Jira, GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, Snyk, Playwright, and Blazemeter.  
• Working knowledge of CICD tools like GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, or Jenkins 
• Cloud:Familiarity and experience with public cloud engineering - AWS preferred
