This role is based in Westmead, however it is a flexible work environment.

What you'll be doing
The Cybersecurity Practitioner will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering specialised cybersecurity services to protect the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network’s (SCHN) critical information assets, including the Electronic Medical Record (eMR). 
This role is focused on safeguarding these essential systems while also driving improvements to the maturity of key information security operations, e.g. leading Cybersecurity Incident Management, performing detailed Security Risk Assessments, and implementing strategic initiatives to strengthen SCHN’s overall cybersecurity posture. 

The position is essential for maintaining the security and integrity of SCHN's sensitive data and ensuring resilience against evolving cyber threats.

  1. Relevant tertiary degree or post graduate qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant certified industry qualifications or demonstrated extensive experience and a record of achievement in the cybersecurity/information security operations and delivery of services within a complex environment.
  2. Demonstrated experience in performing risk assessments and evaluating the information security of applications and infrastructure.
  3. Demonstrated technical experience in managing security platforms and tools, including experience in SIEM, Vulnerability assessment / analysis, threat intelligence, GRC etc.
  4. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  5. Proven ability to function as a self-motivated multi skilled analyst, working collaboratively in a team environment, with a positive proactive attitude, who can effectively work with minimal supervision.
  6. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and negotiation skills including proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to develop and maintain documentation in both a technical and business context.
  8. Demonstrated experience in Cyber Incident Analysis, investigations, and response.
