What will I do?

As the Senior Engineer you will play a key role in guiding, mentoring and developing other Security Engineers as well as reviewing and approving their work in the development and integration of security products and services with a strong focus on Cloud. This role is responsible for leading engineering initiatives which improve the posture of our cloud & on-prem environment, which includes ensuring our capabilities are available for easy consumption, constantly improved to mitigate against the evolving threat landscape and ensuring these capabilities ad-here to our cyber security standards.

  • Assume technical responsibility for all stages of operating, maintaining and integrating security tools within the Woolworths environment to ensure compliance with security control standards and achievement of documented requirements
  • Utilise technical expertise in the requirements analysis phase to ensure the solution is both fit for purpose and fit for use
  • Design and execute acceptance testing to improve the quality and reduce operational risk of the security products and services.
  • Provide on-going 3rd level support of security products and services to reduce the impact of product defects and related incidents.
  • Balance competing demands to ensure security engineering objectives are achieved
  • Provide technical security advice and guidance to Woolworths
  • Collaboration with internal Cyber Security, IT and other stakeholders to manage our security services
  • Ad hoc of on call duties after hours: Change Management and On Call Support
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
  • Security Services management tools and application would include, but not limited to: SIEM, Endpoint detection and Response, Vulnerability management, CASB, IDP, WAF, DLP

What will I bring?

  • Ideally, you will have 5+ years of experience in an Engineering role.  
  • Some experience working with native security capability within cloud platforms like Azure, GCP & AWS would be highly desirable
  • Exposure to system administration with operating systems common to enterprise (Windows, Linux & MAC)
  • Some knowledge in security applications and tools (eg. Endpoint Detection, CSPM,  API Security)
  • The ability to guide, mentor and develop other Engineers.
  • Strong communication skills with the abilty to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
