One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage an experienced Java Developer to design, develop and deploy code as part of the software development lifecycle. You will also work closely with Architects, System Analysts and Testers to maintain and enhance existing systems. The role can be based from Adelaide or Canberra with flexible working arrangements available. The successful Java Developer will be offered a 12 month contract with 2 X 12 month extension options.

The successful Java Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Developing strategy to ensure high code quality and long term maintenance of a products code base
• Ensuring compliance with endorsed software development methodologies
• Providing direction and support to development teams to ensure high quality solution realisation
• Overseeing team contributions to cost analysis activities to proactively drive continuous improvement

The successful Java Developer will have experience in the following:

• Primary knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Spring, CSS and GitLab
• Expertise in authentication protocols between application and infrastructure layers
• Experience integrating Spring Java applications with Database Systems (DB2 and SQL Server)  
• Experience designing applications operating at scale in distributed or virtualised environments
