ICT Enterprise Architect

Canberra - ACTThe Role
Defence is seeking strongly motivated individuals with drive, integrity and a passion to support Defence, including the ADF, in delivering its national security objectives.
As an architect in the Chief Information Officer group (CIOG) you will have the opportunity to work with major Defence capability projects.
The projects range across capability streams such as Land Combat and Amphibious Warfare, Maritime and Anti-Submarine Warfare, Strike and Air Combat or even Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Electronic Warfare, Space and Cyber.
If your preference is for information management and major business systems, opportunities exist to work on Defence's large Enterprise Information Management Program, Defence's consolidated ERP Program or even Defence's enterprise wide identity and access management framework.
ICT Architecture responsibilities include:
- Establishing and maintaining effective Defence Enterprise Architecture;
- Establishing and maintaining architectures and roadmaps in line with Defence ICT and Information Management Strategies Translating Whole-of-Government, Defence and ICT Strategic guidance into unambiguous architectural direction and guidance;
- Establishing, reviewing and maintaining architectural principles, guidelines and patterns;
- Ensuring enterprise-wide compliance with architecture standards and fit-for-purpose ICT solutions in fixed, mobile and deployed environments;
- Business modelling, business process analysis, business process design and management of whole-of-Defence activities;
- Manage preferred tools, set standards, and defined architecture practice services in Defence;
- We are seeking to fill multiple EL2 Enterprise Architect Positions, some EL2's within the branch perform a Director role and are responsible for leading a team of architects, while others are architects within the teams.

About our Team
ICT Architecture Branch is responsible for ensuring that Defence has a modern, secure and scalable enterprise Information and Communications Technology (ICT) architecture to support Defence business and military operations.
To transform Defence's ICT architecture for the future ICTAB is comprised of five directorates:
- The Directorate of Defence Capability Architecture (DCA);
- Directorate of Enterprise Architecture Enablers;
- Directorate of Information, Integration, Applications and Engagement;
- Directorate of Architecture for Technology and Security; and
- Directorate of Standards and Architecture Practice.
Each will a slightly different focus and stakeholder group but all with the same mission in mind – to enable Defence to meet its outcomes using modern, secure and scalable enterprise Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
