The Department of Mining and Energy (DME) works in partnership with industry to develop and broaden the Northern Territory’s economic base.

The Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is the custodian of knowledge and data on the Territory’s geology and resources, and undertakes activities to support and grow the minerals and petroleum exploration industry. This includes Resourcing the Territory a $9.5 million ongoing program providing pre-competitive geoscience, investment attraction and exploration stimulus programs designed to increase exploration activity and success rates.

As the Manager, Information Services, you will lead a team to deliver high quality and timely specialist information services to the resources industry, government and other clients. Key duties include ensuring client access to effective information systems and services and developing projects to achieve strategic outcomes.

Team responsibilities include managing library collections and systems, client services and publishing of high-quality geoscientific reports, maps and data packages. To be successful you are required to have substantial experience and skills in relation to information management frameworks, systems and practices and an understanding of client needs. Experience in managing and disseminating digital technical information and data and relevant qualifications are essential.
