The role & you

Join our Water Planning and Assets Department as a Networks Engineer, playing a key role in sustainable water management and planning for the future. This technical position involves hands-on data analysis, modelling, GIS, scenario analysis, and some project management. You will maintain and develop hydraulic models, working with stakeholders to ensure they are current and effective for planning and decision-making.

In this role, you will build and calibrate water and sewer models to account for future growth and development. You will provide technical input for modelling projects and contribute to water and sewer servicing strategies. Working independently, you will use your engineering judgment to recommend effective solutions. You will also develop a deep understanding of how current systems operate hydraulically and be able to adjust these systems during emergencies or planned disruptions.

We are looking for candidates with a background in civil engineering or a related field, experience in hydraulic modelling and GIS, and strong analytical skills.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $90,000 p.a.- $110,000 p.a. plus superannuation (commencing salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending on qualifications, skills and experience) 

Civil Liability Allowance: There is a Civil Liability Allowance of 3.5% which applies to this role in addition to the salary. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
