IT Project Portfolio Manager

 

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Portfolio Manager to join our growing IT Team based at our Head Office in Port Adelaide.

Role Overview

As a critical role in the on-going delivery of information technology services, the IT Project Portfolio Manager oversees the delivery of new and improved technology services through the establishment and execution of projects that are defined in the Business Plan to meet the FPH Strategy; along with identified projects considered essential to deliver on-going and identified business outcomes.

The role provides an essential link between the identification of required outcomes from the Business to the execution of projects within Group IT and assurance to Executive that these outcomes are delivered under an appropriate governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with key business stakeholders to establish a portfolio of projects required to deliver business outcomes and assist in developing proposals through the governance process to go/no-go decisions;
  • Manage the portfolio management process and ensure that projects are governed, managed and delivered in accordance with the agreed frameworks for project delivery and change management;
  • Establish and maintain a project delivery roadmap that optimises, prioritises to ensure projects are delivered in a cohesive and streamlined approach that maximises resources and considers interdependencies and constraints;
  • Manage enterprise level risks and oversight of financial spend of key projects to ensure they are executed within appropriate tolerances;
  • Establish and participate in Project Steering Committees to provide executive level oversight on Program and Project execution;
  • Provide reporting and regular communication of the health status and delivery of outcomes of the project portfolio to Executive and key stakeholders, ensuring the outcomes align to organisational strategy and enable enterprise agility; and
  • Establish and manage project teams and provide coaching, mentoring and staff management to promote high performance and the delivery of excellence.

About you

Your skills and experience will include;

  • Tertiary qualification in management, technology, computer science or related field and experience in delivering projects using industry standard frameworks and methodologies;
  • Experience in leading high-performance teams and strong collaboration and engagement skills;
  • Experience in managing a complex portfolio of work in line with a multi-year strategic roadmap within a mid-size organisation;
  • Experience project managing the implementation of complex enterprise applications and systems in a mid-sized organisation;
  • Working knowledge and experience in capturing project requirements using standard practices (such as those within the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge); and
  • Working knowledge and experience in delivering business change using standard practices (such as those within the Prosci methodology).
